When riders seek to improve the power performance of off-road motorcycles, they usually think about engine modifications. But are you ignoring the "free" performance upgrade? Changing your gearing (the sprocket combination) doesn't increase your engine's horsepower, but it dramatically changes how that power is delivered to the ground. For technical trail riding, going up two teeth on the rear sprocket will make your bike pull much harder out of corners and drag through mud or rocks without stalling. The trade-off is a minor loss of top speed, but for woods riding, the gain in instant torque can make your bike feel like it's gained 15 horsepower.
